This new feature gives you even greater flexibility when applying issue templates, letting you create only the child issues you need - without requiring the parent issue to be activated.

Imagine this: you’re working on a complex template with a hierarchy of tasks, but not all of them are relevant right now. Previously, deactivating the parent issue meant automatically deactivating all its child issues. With this update, you’re in full control. You can now reactivate specific child issues while keeping the parent issue deactivated. It’s flexibility at its finest!

And don’t worry - if you’re dealing with subtasks, we’ve got you covered. Subtasks still require a parent issue to function in Jira, but you can easily assign one dynamically using Templating.app’s variable options or manually during template application.

When setting up behaviours for your Issue Create screen, you can now use conditions using Jira's Cascading Select Field. 🌟

We’ve removed the option. This was originally a workaround due to technical restrictions that prevented us from filtering Issue Templates based on project permissions.

Previously, users could see templates from projects they didn’t have access to - but without seeing project names, issue details, or being able to apply/edit them. While functional, it wasn’t ideal. The workaround allowed templates to be hidden from the global view and only visible when filtering by project.

With these restrictions now resolved, users will only see templates for projects they have access to - no more workarounds needed! 🎯

This change simplifies the experience and ensures better security and clarity in template management.

Templating.app now fully supports the updated Jira navigation design. This ensures a smooth and consistent experience as Jira rolls out its new layout.
